love in this club.
So, last night I went clubbing for my first time. In was an experience, to say the least. My friends absolutely loved it, but clubbing isn't really my thing. Actually, awkward social dances aren't my thing. At all. Like I said, awkward. Oh, I forgot to mention, it was 80's dancing. No, not just being dressed in mock Flash Dance attire, but legit music and 80's dancing. I was pretty excited because I absolutely love the 80's! We got there and there was a butt load of people. It was ridiculous. You were shoulder to shoulder with people and the stench was unbearable. Smoke, beer, and sweaty people are not a good mixture. (no, I did not drink or smoke.) However, there was a ridiculous amount of bumpin' and grindin'. I thought I was going to be sick. I'm not sure what it was, but I had multiple guys try to grab me to grind with them. No, creep, get away from me, my body is a temple and is not to be used for your pleasure (see, I don't belong in clubs). My friends claim that it is from my "hot" booty, that I had all these guys attempting to get freaky. Whatever it was, I hated it and will not be doing it again. My friends said that it normally is not like that at all and there usually isn't that huge of a crowd there so I should give it another chance. However, I am still very bitter towards those guys and the experience, it may take a long time (to never) to go clubbing again. We got home around 3 in the morning and we were all beat and crashed. So with that lovely experience, I bid you ado.

The week from Hell.
Pardon my french, but seriously
H-E-Double-Hockeysticks
pretty much describes the week.
H-E-Double-Hockeysticks
pretty much describes the week.
Spending over 36 hours
in a library-studying-should not be allowed.
Pretty sure my brain is going to mush.
At least I'm excelling in life while it is, right?
However, you can only take
so much studying and
then you must reward
yourself.
How do we do it? Take a looksie for yourself.
And the winner of the night...
Please, feel free to laugh.

I've got a golden ticket.
Once again, the little yellow ticket has visited. Why, oh why, am I so cursed? I feel as though the campus police just follow me around and wait for me to leave to issue that {very unwanted} ticket. Seriously, it's money I could really use right now. Also, they need to be better at making their parking permit signs more clear. So, raise your hands in the air for finding the golden ticket.

Shun.
I feel like if I shun finals and pretend they are not coming and don't exist, they won't come. December 12th is going to be very bittersweet day. It's the day I turn marriage age in the state of Utah (don't worry, it's not happening) and it's the start of finals week. Please join me in shunning and perhaps finals week will go away.

Oh, I wanna dance with somebody!
But, I did not want to feel the heat with somebody... Last night was the paint dance! It was a blast! It was more like a "squish and get wet" according to Alex than a dance. So, let me attempt to describe this little shindig for you... There was a DJ. He had a stage. It was gated off. Right below his stage, still in the gated off section, there were people with super-soakers filled with paint. They squirted them into the crowd. The crowd that was so squished that when you were pushed you didn't fall over. It also stunk really bad. Come on, people, we're in college, can we please have some hygiene? We danced, well jumped, our hearts out and then left. How fun, right? I bet you wish you were as cool as me and my school. We then were starving and decided to cook us some grub. There were 9 of us so we settled on spaghetti. Boy, let me tell you that cooking was an adventure! To hear our midnight catastrophe read it here on our cute roomie blog :)
We're just that cool. |

Caught By Surprise.
Yep, that's me at the moment. Granted, I like to use this phrase while singing one of my favorite musical songs, but it works here, too. So, I'm taking this class on Terrorism. (I had no idea when I signed up for it!) The first class hour I attended, I HATED it! I disliked my professors, there were a bunch of old people in it, and it didn't sound very interesting. After deciding to stick with it and not transfer out, I am so glad I did! It's incredible! The whole course is centered around terrorism and defining it. Because the world does not agree on one definition (because if we did, then we would be held liable for labeling and being labeled ourselves, as terrorists) we have the task of studying and learning more about this world-wide social phenomenon and dedicating our final paper to our definition of what terrorism is, based on our research. Today we studied 9/11 and what led up to that tragic day in American History. I had no idea that plans and attempts were made many years before to lead up to this attack. It was so intriguing and mind-blowing learning about these people who were so determined to destroy all aspects of Western Civilization. Osama Bin Laden started out his career being known as a "Samaritan" because of his efforts to aid those in need. He came from a very wealthy family and helped use his means to aid others. Who knew! Later on, he used that same wealth to help him become one of Afghanistan's most powerful leaders. With his families money he created a network throughout the world called "Jihad". There were 35 Jihad networks throughout the world and America was their main country they wanted their Jihad networks foundation to be. They felt that if they could get as many allies in America as possible, their plan to destroy American would become much easier. Everything I learned was so mind-blowing and finding out the the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001 was not the first encounter with these men just blew my mind! I didn't know that in 1992, two men tried to bomb the World Trade Center by placing a bomb in the basement. The incident killed 6 people and that was a huge disappointment to these men so they began planning an even bigger attack. The hijacking of the planes was not a spur of the moment thing and was so well planned out, it's scary. It started in 1980! 1980!!!!!! Many of the masterminds behind the 9/11 attack went to school here in the United States and then returned home to Afghanistan, Pakistan, or wherever home was and joined the Jihad network. So, in a way we trained these men who destroyed us! I could go on, and on, but you would probably get bored but I LOVE this class! It's so fascinating and I think that if the general American population understood more about the international world and the grievances others have with out foreign policy, we would most likely not be in the mess today.

Livin' it up.
College is weird at times. Most of the time I love it but sometimes I'm not a huge fan. #1 dislike: being by myself. I hate being by myself, but I'm pretty sure I've done it more this week than I have my entire life! It's not awful, just weird. Weird: that pretty much sums up my life right now. I'm going through such a huge change (one that I didn't realize would be so impacting) and I'm still trying to figure out how to balance it all. I'm doing much better and less homesick than I was earlier this week and I'm really learning how to be independent. I'm having a hard time making friends. I'm meeting so many people and I see them like once (?) and then I never see them again. So, it's a little difficult to keep friends. And the weirdest thing, I can't remember half the people's names that I'm meeting! It's getting quite frustrating. Normally I'm super good with names and people--like on the verge of creeper status-- but I can't remember anybody for the life of me! I recognize them but a name does not come to mind. Hopefully, I will get better and make some good friends. Today I had to buy more books and my wallet is kind of hurting right now. College is sooo expensive! I swear, they think we're made of money or something! Well, that about it for my lovely college experience, but I would like to end on a good note so...
What I love most about college:
I get to choose when my classes are and what I take.
I get to sleep in MWF.
The bus is the cool thing to do.
I joined the HURD! (super excited about this one!)
There is always something going on.
Everyone is so nice and helpful.
Cute boys :)
Wonderful roomies.
Living on the 4th floor. (it's kind of a killer but I think it's a blessing in disguise.
I get to eat right out of the ice cream carton!
Awesome professors.
